Maple Syrup

The Cabane à Sucre became a reality after visiting the land that we now call Dragonfly Farm & Winery. We always have enjoyed going to the French Canadian sugar camps so after our first visit and seeing all the beautiful sugar maples on the property it was decided we would make it happen.

First the logs were cut and milled on the property and then the small cabane was built. We first were thinking of syrup for the family, but as time went on, we realized that it would go very well in the wine shop. Today the syrup in our shop comes from these beautiful maple trees.

We are keeping to the French Canadian way of making syrup and maple goodies…In March, when we are boiling and you see steam coming out from the cupola, stop in for a visit and see first-hand how maple syrup is made. On Maple Sunday, our doors are open to anyone interested in sharing our French Canadian traditions of making maple syrup and sampling foods made with maple syrup.
